Amalfi Drive

The challenging hillside site for this single family residence in Pacific Palisades forced an animation of the project in section.  Service space is located on the first floor and two separate bedroom wings were placed on the second floor, opening up the third floor for the gallery and living area.  This volume is punctuated by two courtyards that alternately open onto the master bedroom suite and the main living space.  A roof shell with continuous glass at its base floats above the open third floor creating a loft-like space with a series of materially distinct objects, stairs, closets, fireplace, and bathrooms that meter views to the surrounding landscape and ocean.
